July 21 Southampton

Getting off the ship was easy until we got to the luggage collection area where we couldn't find Michael's suitcase. Finally we saw it over in a corner with other bags which had lost their tags.  Whew, would have been a long week in Ireland if someone had taken his bag by mistake.

Getting to the hotel (Holiday Inn Southampton) meant walking out the gate and about 50 yards to reception. And even though it was only about 10:00 am, they had a room ready.  Wonderful.

We spent the day wandering around Southampton for a bit. Unfortunately my hip/leg starts hurting after walking for too long, so we couldn't go as far as I'd like.  May have to try ibuprofen or something soon, although stretching helps.

We  ate dinner at Ennios, an Italian restaurant recommended by the owner of the hotel we stayed at on our way down.  It was a very short walk from the hotel and was delicious.  Have an early flight tomorrow to Dublin to meet up with the tour group.
