July 19-20 At Sea

Sea days have fallen into a rhythm of mornings by the indoor pool, lunch, and afternoons of wandering the ship, naps and reading. This afternoon we will have to pack for departure tomorrow morning.  This has been a wonderful cruise. The ship is beautiful and has lots of touches that we really like, as I said before.  One of those is  the nightlight setting in the cabin's bathroom.  In other ships you have to turn on the very bright light before entering which is disturbing to the sleeper and blinding to the user.  The elevators are all glass and open to the central atrium area and there are plenty of them, 8 at each end of the ship.  There are several quiet areas including the library and the Hideaway. The buffet is very well laid out so there are rarely lines or crowds at a particular food area.  The only negative about the buffet is that the beverage service is a little lacking.  There are coffee/tea and water/juice stations conveniently located, so the emphasis is more on self service. There is a bar at the entrance, but not really enough waiters available when you want an espresso with breakfast or beer with lunch. The service in the main dining room at dinner is better.  The food has been very good and the staff helpful. Michael likes the gelato bar and the coffee is the best we've had on a ship.  The wifi has been very fast and we could make wifi phone and video calls, although the time change made that a little impractical and the quality of those was marginal.  We could also text, but the wifi would disconnect after a period if inactivity, so you have to remember to log in periodically.

We had a lively final dinner with our six tablemates.  Once again we lucked out with a great group that we looked forward to eating with every night.

I don't think we would hesitate to sail with Celebrity again.  Next up is a day in Southampton before beginning our bus tour of Ireland.
