Michael has had a sore gum for a few days now and last night it got bad enough that he decided he should see the ship's doctor. A very nice doctor from Ecuador confirmed an infection and gave him an antibiotic for a week. Unfortunately, that means no more alcohol for him for a while. We got the alcohol included in the upgrade package, but we got the package more for the gratuities and unlimited wifi parts, which was a bargain in itself. The beverages was just an added bonus. Would have been a real bummer to pay extra for the liquor package and then not be able to drink.
We discovered the Sky Lounge on deck 14 all the way forward which has panoramic views and a few leather loungers at the windows - absolutely stunning and comfortable although they have various activities scheduled throughout the day so it isn't always peaceful.
There are a number of little things that I really like about this ship. At dinner they have butter for the bread but also have different spreads like herb, blue cheese, and sundried tomato. And at the pools they have blankets as well as towels when there's a chill in the air. Nice little touches.
Tonight is the World Cup semifinal game between England and Croatia. Ordinarily we wouldn't pay any attention, but Peter and Carol are big fans and the ship is showing the match on every available screen, including the theatre, so we'll have it on in our cabin.
Oh dear, no celebrating for England tonight as Croatia won 2-1.
Wishing our granddaughter Rose a very happy 2nd birthday! Hugs and kisses from Grandma and Grandpa.
